- Appreciate good work of your child and encourage persistently by using good compliments and giving positive feedback.
- Help your child to learn from his mistakes and failures.
- Identify your child’s areas of interest and construct on these. The success in any area outside the school may turn into a source of encouragement to perform better at school.
- Never use sarcastic words to your child since there is no advantage of it in a long run.
- Do not expect too much from your child and do not involve him in too many activities. Because some students underachieve only because they have too much to do and too many demands on their time.
- Promote a healthy learning environment at home and involve your child in enjoyable learning games and activities.
- Encourage your child to explain the concepts that he find difficult to a younger sibling or cousin to gain confidence.
- Set a practicable timetable for daily routine to locate particular hours of study.
- Keep track of the progress at school on regular basis to be aware of his academic performance.
- Built a strong communication mechanism with your child’s teacher. This collaboration will benefit your child since he will be getting support at home and at school both.
